MS VISTA and XBox 360 compatibility?
There are a lot news/rumor (depending on the source) that has been circulating among gaming sites that XBox 360 will be operational on Microsoft’s upcoming (yeah, the neverending “upcoming”) MS Vista via Media Centre environment.
This is great news for those who are planning to upgrade to VISTA and is also an XBox 360 fanatic (the former makes the news not so great, the latter, oh well). As of now, XBox 360 is already running on a Media Centre environment provided that the user has installed special PC tools. Since the “upcoming” (I know, I’m sorry) MS VISTA is rumored to be Media Centre-enabled as part of its feature, XBox 360 will then be able to talk to the OS changing the game’s environment. The “great” about it compared to normal Media Centres is that XBox 360, because of its processors that can render the Media Centre Screens, will make the gamer feel like he’s actually using a Media Centre.
However (we all know this is inevitable), there are a lot of downsides to this so-called development. Majority of these is the recent confirmation of Microsoft that it is postponing its release of the much-hyped operating system until January 2007. By then, maybe even radio transistors are able to run XBox 360, or PS3, who knows maybe even Atari?
