PS3 Orange Box to get patch in near future?
A fan of Valve Software’s The Orange Box expressed his disappointment about what he believes as a sub-par PS3 version of the game, posting it in a well-written open letter addressed to Valve Software. A Valve employee replied to the letter, saying that he hopes that they will fix the issues in the future. Is this a confirmation of a future patch or does Valve still believe that the PS3 is “a waste of time?” More details in the full article.
Disgruntled and dismayed about what he perceives as a sub-par PS3 release, a fan of Valve Software’s The Orange Box posted an open letter to Valve in their official forums, asking the studio to urge Electronic Arts to release a patch to fix the current bugs and flaws in the game. Here is part of what he wrote, in verbatim:
Please Valve, pressure EA to fix the very noticeable faults in the PS3 version. The original release of Half Life 2 was one of the finest moments in interactive entertainment. Please keep it that way. Please EA, listen to your consumers… release a patch to fix what should not have been in there from the start.
The gamer also noted what he believes as Valve Software’s “nonchalant stance” towards the quality of the PS3 version of The Orange Box. For the record, Valve Software’s Gabe Newell has expressed his own disappointment towards Sony’s next-gen console, even to the extent of calling it “a waste of time.”
However, what is noteworthy about the open letter is that a Valve employee replied to the post, somehow hinting about a future patch with the words “I hope that we will be able to correct any major issues in the future.” Will this be the confirmation many gamers are waiting for? Do stay tuned.
