Evergreen Events renames OGDC as ION Game Conference
Ever since the Online Game Development Conference (OGDC) started, more than a few big names have graced the event. However, it won’t be known as the OGDC for much longer. Evergreen Events has announced that it will now be known as the ION Game Conference.

According to its official website, the Online Gaming Development Conference (OGDC) is the only annual event which focuses on online gaming development. While the OGDC has already garnered quite a bit of support in its current state, the organizers felt that a change was needed to properly represent the conference and its goals.
Evergreen Events has announced that the OGDC has been renamed to the ION Game Conference. In addition to the new name, a brand new logo and website for the event was also revealed.This new look is part of a move to further reinforce the global reach of the gaming event. Conference Director for the ION Game Conference Peter Frees spoke about the change:
At Evergreen Events, we wanted a new identity that represented what we offer with our conference: unsurpassed networking opportunities and unique sessions and panels you cannot find anywhere else, among hundreds of like-minded online game industry veterans from around the world.
If you plan on attending the ION Game Conference this year, you might want to know that the theme for 2008 is “redefining online”. This means that they will not only be covering MMORPGs but other categories including console gaming, mobile gaming, and other sectors which intersect with online gaming.
