Nintendo sponsors 2008 Australian Open by holding competitions
Nintendo Australia has just announced that it will be the official gaming console supplier for the 2008 Australian Open. In line with this, Nintendo will be featuring tennis competitions for Wii Sports and the DS game Sight Training. Winners will get tickets to the Men’s Final and even play against Australian tennis star Mark Philippoussis.

Nintendo of Australia has just announced that they will be the official gaming supplier of the 2008 Australian Open. Nintendo will make their presence known in Australia by holding competitions for Wii Sports and Sight Training for the whole duration of the Open outside the Vodafone Arena.
People who enter will have to compete against rivals for the tennis championship for the Wii. Those who become the daily champions will get to take home a Wii console and a copy of Wii Sports. The winner will get tickets to see the Men’s Finals and have a Wii Sports tennis play off against Mark Philippoussis, an Australian tennis player who became a finalist in various tennis tournaments such as the U.S. Open, Australian Open, and Wimbledon.
Aside from the virtual tennis competition, there will also be a Nintendo Sight Training Lounge to test the visual abilities of participants. Sight Training is a game for the Nintendo DS that concentrates on five aspects of vision. Those who participate will have a chance to win a Nintendo DS and also a copy of Sight Training.
