We all know how much Koei likes churning out several games from the Samurai Warriors and Dynasty Warriors franchises, but we’re not complaining. But for now, it looks like the game developer is checking out more ways on how to distribute new gaming content aside from coming up with new full games every so often. Yes, Koei is now starting to jump into the downloadable content ship.

Koei has recently released Sengoku Musou 2: Moushouden (Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends) for the PS2 in Japan through retail, but is planning to distribute the game through Japan’s Xbox Live Marketplace instead for the Xbox 360, which is a first for Koei. The game will sell for 2400 MS Points, beginning on March 19.

The news about Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends hitting Xbox Live Marketplace in the US is yet to be announced, however, so stay tuned for more updates!
