Check out the full article for the entire scoop.
The numbers are in from Chart Track UK, and it’s confirmed: Sega‘s Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games has successfully nabbed the top spot in terms of sales, for the week ending January 19 of this year. Who would’ve known that such an unlikely clash of universes – that being, the Mushroom Kingdom and the denizens of Mobius – would rock out more than Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Assassin’s Creed, and Super Mario Galaxy? No one, but we have to give credit where it’s due – and the guys at Sega deserve it in spades.
Here’s the list of the top ten titles:
- Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (Sega)
- Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Infinity Ward)
- The Simpsons Game (Electronic Arts)
- Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training (Nintendo)
- More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima (Nintendo)
- Assassin’s Creed (Ubisoft Montreal)
- FIFA 08 (EA Canada)
- Super Mario Galaxy (Nintendo)
- Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (Neversoft)
- Wii Play (Nintendo)
Looking at the list, there’s definitely a lot of movers and shakers. Wii Play, for instance, managed to jump to tenth place after being marooned at the 36th place in the Chart Track. Super Mario Galaxy is another, making the jump from the 15th spot to the 8th. As for those unfortunate enough to get taken down a few notches, it’s none other than FIFA 08, who fell five places high from second place.
All in all a very interesting week in terms of sales. You can check out the complete list by clicking on the via link below.
