MMO on the go: rumors on World of Warcraft Mobile
The idea of playing MMOs on your mobile phone may seem a little far fetched, but according to Vivendi Games Mobile boss Paul Maglione mobile aspects may soon become a part of all MMOs. This subtle remark may have something to do with the mobile project that Blizzard has mentioned before, although no solid plans have yet been revealed about it.

We’ll let you decide for yourselves if you think this idea is even plausible: a mobile version of World of Warcraft. While it may sound rather ludicrous, Vivendi Games Mobile boss Paul Maglione subtly hinted a connection between MMOs and its possible mobile following.
During the recent Mobile Games Forum 2008 in London, a source from Pocket Gamer quoted Maglione for having mentioned that: “Mobile aspects will become part of all MMOs”. While this doesn’t really say a lot, this complements Blizzard‘s previous plans of putting up a mobile development team for the company.
While there’s been no solid plans revealed what exactly the nature of the possible WoW Mobile project will be about, several theories have been put together.
Ideas were thrown around whether the project would involve a totally separate MMO for the mobile platform or whether it would be an independent stand-alone game based on the WoW universe. Other theories included a mobile application which lets you access the PC version of WoW to some limited degree, such as guild chats or other admin aspects.
However, all of these ideas are merely theories so far and nothing final has really been pinned down. In any case, we’ll just have to keep our eyes and ears open for more development from Vivendi and Blizzard.
