Burnout Paradise DLC to solve Xbox 360 Core and Arcade online problems
Xbox 360 Core and Arcade gamers who are still itching to play Burnout Paradise (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) online may still have a chance to do so after Electronic Arts announced a solution which will help make both ends meet. The game publisher will be releasing both paid and free downloadable content for the game so that gamers with matching set of contents will be able to participate in online matches with others. More details about this move in the full article.
Electronic Arts has decided to go halfway for Xbox 360 Core and Arcade gamers who can’t play Burnout Paradise (also on the PlayStation 3) to its full potential due to the hard disk requirement needed to play the game online.
It was previously explained that the need for the HDD was tied into the additional content players can obtain while playing the game online. This became a problem for Xbox 360 Core and Arcade gamers who don’t have the luxury of downloading any game content into their consoles. Fortunately, Electronic Arts has announced a solution to make both ends meet for Xbox 360 gamers.
The game publisher has announced that it will be releasing both free and paid downloadable content for online players who want to participate in matches against one another. This makes it possible for gamers to see at least some of the featured content in the game even if you opted to just get the free downloadable content.
However, how does this spell for those who don’t have matching content on their consoles? Criterion Games, the developers of the game, explained this dilemma by saying:
Crucially we also didnÂ’t want to split the playing community between those that have updated data and those that donÂ’t. We saw this as vital in maintaining simplicity to all online users; different players having different content packages wouldnÂ’t be able to play online with each other.
While this may split the community of Burnout Paradise gamers with the varied set of contents, EA assured gamers this this will actually help diversify the Burnout universe and extend the game’s playability.
Since there’s been no further word how they plan to implement the distribution of the DLC for the game, we’ll just have to wait and see how EA plans to play their cards to appease the number of Xbox 360 gamers who are anxious to play the game online.
