Peter Molyneux, one of the most established video game designer still around today, has recently revealed that they are working on a new franchise capable of revolutionizing the whole game AI.
To make his point more clear, he referred to the 2001 PC title Black & White which was considered special at its time. Know more about this after the jump!
In an interview with Lionhead Studios boss Peter Molyneux at the Game Developers Conference, the legendary game designer said that their team is about to “revolutionize” AI in video games.
The said team is actually the same core responsible for the title Black & White which originally came out back in 2001. Molyneux added that the team has started working on the project right after the said title was released. He further discussed:
In the six years since Black & White was released they have been working improving the great things that underpinned that game, and now they are getting pretty close to something that is very significant.
ItÂ’s a very big thing. A new franchise and as close to something revolutionary as I have ever seen. And weÂ’re close to announcing it.
Going a bit into specifics, Peter Molyneux referred to the creature in Black & White who learned behavior and seemed alive. “Imagine if you could take that and multiply it by a billion”, added the video game designer.
Aside from the already mentioned, Peter Molyneux refused to divulge more details, also to the request of his publicist who was beside him during the interview. Just keep checking back here at QJ.NET for the latest on this development.
