Homebrew developer Sakya has released LightMP3 v2.0.0 Alpha 2. The latest version of the application sees quite a number of bugfixes as well as some new features that users will undoubtedly appreciate.
Perhaps the biggest fix, and the one audiophiles will undoubtedly be most happy about, is the re-implementation of FLAC support. In addition, those with huge music libraries will be pleased to know that the media library is now working and that cover art can be retrieved from ID3v2 tags.
Another new feature that the developer added is the option for users to scan their Memory Stick, browse their media by Artist, Album, and Genre, and search for text (in album, title, and artist). Here are the instructions as taken from the release thread:
For coverart LightMP3 will look:
- In ID3v2 info (only MP3)
- For a file named like the file .jpg (ex: filename.mp3.jpg)
- For a file named cover.jpg in the same directory of the file
If you plan on downloading this application, be sure to go over all the documentation involved to avoid any unwanted incidents.
