Wii-Clip: plug n’ play solution for D2CKey, D2CPro Wii modchips

Wii-Clip: plug n' play solution for D2CKey, D2CPro Wii modchips - Image 1A new team going by the name Wii-Clip have created a sub-plug n’ play solution for the new D2CKey, D2CPro modchips released late last year. D2C never really caught on popularly, however, as the modchip required mastery of soldering to install it on your Nintendo Wii’s motherboard. Team Wii-Clip has created a template holder called a Wii-Clip that will accommodate a D2C compatible modchip and slap on easily over the Wii’s standard D2C chip. More at the full story.

Wii-Clip: plug n' play solution for D2CKey, D2CPro Wii modchips - Image 1A new clip-on solution for the recently released D2CKey and D2CPro modchips has rolled out of the woodwork called the Wii-Clip. The team behind its creation claims that it’s a simpler solution to modding your Nintendo Wii with the D2C modchips.

And it would do so by being a sub-plug n’ play adapter for the D2Ckey modchip for Nintendo Wiis, reducing the complex – and equally risky – task of soldering the D2C modchip onto the Wii’s motherboard.

The image you see to the right is the Wii-Clip, a makeshift modchip holder fit for either D2C modchip versions. It doesn’t serve as a placeholder only, as the lower black cover may suggest.

That cover is actually a clip-on adapter, designed to cover your D2A or D2C DVD controller IC situated on Wii-Clip let’s the D2C modchip perform its job while preventing the modchip from being  a permanent fixture on your motherboard.

Like WiiKey, Wii-Clip will also keep D2C modchips completely “stealthed” to a point, which may be cause of concern to Nintendo after they rolled out new versions of Wii consoles sporting the D2C chip. More information can be had at the team’s official website, provided via the source link below.
