According to NGC magazine: Capcom is preparing a Resident Evil title for the Nintendo DS.

With two new Resident Evil titles released this year alone and an additional two more on the way, NGC Magazine- a magazine reporting on products from Nintendo or for Nintendo systems- seems to believe that Capcom will be working on another Resident Evil title, this one exclusively for the DS, and reports on the ‘rumor’ in the latest issue of the magazine, now available at a coffee shop or bookstore near you.

NGC finds that the new unnamed title will probably be available exclusively for the DS, using the touch screen primarily to dictate where your attacks will go as you strike down minions of the undead. The magazine also reports that characters from previous games will probably return for this particular title, but does not specify any potential release date for the product being classified as a ‘rumor’ at the moment. Capcom, publisher of the Resident Evil series since its first installment, has neither confirmed nor denied the title’s existence, though it is safe to say the publisher will address the matter within a few days.

Resident Evil is the widely popular survival-horror series pitting gamers against flesh-eating zombies and minions of evil. The last addition to the series, Resident Evil 4, was released earlier this year for the Nintendo Gamecube, earning high marks from nearly every video game critic around. Resident Evil 4 will also be coming to the Playstation 2 later this year.
