Eidos officially confirms Battlestations: Pacific for PC, Xbox 360
It was reported last January that Eidos had filed for trademark of Battlestations: Pacific. This month, Eidos has done more than that: the company has confirmed that the actual game will be coming out for the PC and the XBox 360. Find out more about this official sequel in the full article, right after the jump.
If you enjoyed the dogfights and sea battles of Eidos Interactive‘s Battlestations: Midway (PC, Xbox 360), then here’s good news for you: what was once just a filed trademark has now been officially confirmed as a sequel. Battlestations: Pacific is on its way to the PC and Microsoft‘s Xbox 360.
While continuing the tradition of World War II battles and the storyline of its predecessor, Battlestations: Pacific will contain at least one new feature: the tactical landing of troops via parachute or landing craft. Eidos Interactive has also thrown in all-new multiplayer modes wherein players may compete against friends online and via the System Link feature.
Battlestations: Pacific‘s single player campaign is nothing to sneeze at, either, as players have the option of playing around with new land, sea and air units from either the US faction or the newly-added Japanese faction.
Eidos has also revealed that the latter case will present a “what if” scenario, where players may explore what might have happened had things turned out differently during the actual war. Stay tuned for more updates on this official sequel as we get them!
