Do you remember that Tetris Attack-ish homebrew game Puzzle Challenge? It was first released by PlayStation Portable homebrew developer thepixelatedpoo and now, the said coder has released a new version. Yes, Puzzle Challenge version 2.0 has just been released and this new build sports some improvements and bug fixes.
In case you missed the first release (which was last year), here’s a bit of a primer. Puzzle Challenge is a homebrew game that features gameplay quite like Tetris Attack or Pokemon Puzzle League. You can play against an AI opponent or a friend via ad hoc. It gets pretty crazy, especially when large chain or stone blocks can drop on your field, making it so much harder. Anyway, here’s the changelog from thepixelatedpoo’s release thread:
- new graphics
- chain blocks
- steel blocks
- better playability, much smoother now
- miscellaneous bug fixes
The dev also noted a couple of planned enhancements to the game, which includes new graphics for steel blocks, chain blocks, ice blocks, plus new music. Check out the download below and give Puzzle Challenge a whirl on your handhelds.
