Capcom makes another name change for upcoming XBLA title Commando 3
Talk about another case of possible mistaken identity. Capcom has recently filed for another title change for its new 3D action shooter for the XBLA and PSN, with what was formerly known as Commando 3 into the trendier and longer titled Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3. You can read about the other details of Capcom’s upcoming title in our full article.
According to a new filing found on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) website, Capcom has once again changed the name of its upcoming 3D action shooter for the XBLA and PSN from Commando 3 to Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3.
The name change was prompted due to the titles of several upcoming games conflicting with the old one. To give a little background, the title Wolf in the Battlefield was the game’s original name of the series in Japan. Since Capcom decided to release Bionic Commando Rearmed, this also became a reason for Commando 3 to switch back to its Japanese title.
Rest assured, though, that despite the name change, the game will still pack the same top-down 3D shooting action it promises to deliver when it was announced for both platforms. Hopefully, the next we hear from the game will be about its actual release on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
