Here’s a heads up for Microsoft Xbox 360 owners who enjoy downloadable games from the Xbox Live Arcade – Sierra Entertainment and Atomic Elbow‘s Switchball has been re-released with a slew of new tweaks. The game still gives players control of a transforming ball meant to break through mazes, but rendered in better graphics this time.
Late adopters of Switchball can enjoy a free update that pushed visuals up a notch for “a smoother gameplay experience,” which could very well mean higher frame rates and more vivid 3D environments. For those who want to compare scores with others online, the leaderboards also received improvements.
Switchball was released back in November 7, 2007, and garnered praise along with its TeamXbox.com’s XBLA Game of the Year Award since then. It’s no surprise if the re-release was possible because of solid sales, as the game offered addictive refreshing puzzles and challenging levels that are also visual treats.
