Developer umxprime dropped by the QJ.NET Forums earlier to announce the release of a homebrew titled process_one. The object of this game, based on what we’ve read and seen, is to allow you to create patterns with the flowing particles on your PSP’s onscreen.

The particles are also drawn to a small square which you can move on command, which makes for some very interesting effects. If we were to draw comparisons, it feels like a cross between those XMB wave-customization apps from before, and a flOw. Here are the process_one’s controls:

  • [JOY]/ move the square to draw the flow
  • [UP] / generate an upward oriented flow
  • [right] / generate a left oriented flow
  • [DOWN] / generate a downward oriented flow
  • [left] / generate a left oriented flow
  • [TRIANGLE] / show pixels in a non persistent mode
  • [SQUARE] / the square doesn’t draw
  • [CIRCLE] / the flow leads the particles toward the square
  • [CROSS] / the flow leads the particles away from the square
  • [L] / generate another flow
  • [R] / show the flow
  • [SELECT] / change colors of process_one (5 themes available)
  • [HOME] / quit

Other details on how this game works are available in the file bundle’s readme. You’ll also want to visit umxprime‘s thread over at the QJ.NET PSP Development Forums if you’re interested in posting your feedback. That said, the developer also posted a video demonstrating how process_one looks. Enjoy!
