Battle of the Dolls Moves to Next Phase – Frag dolls
The UK Frag Dolls have now selected their squadmates for the Battle of the Dolls tournament! Battle of the Dolls is a massive 360 Live tournament, celebrating the launch of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter on Xbox 360. Members of the public were invited to take part in the recruitment evening last Thursday to show off their gaming skills to the Frag Dolls and earn a place in the teams! This week will consist of team training, followed by a league night on Thursday 13th April where the teams will play off against each other to decide which two will reach the grand final on Thursday 20th April. Each member of the winning team will receive a 2GB Apple iPod along with other exclusive prizes!
Each of the Frag Dolls took a very different approach to the recruitment; Voodoo working with small teams of players in full-on close-quarters deathmatches to judge their skills; Jam diving straight in with large-map 16 player team games; Kitt splitting her time between observing and participating with her teams; Sarin giving her legendary motivational talks. But what were they looking for? “I wasnÂ’t just after lone fragmonsters,” Kitt points out, “I spent a lot of my recruitment time following the players around watching for team work, map awareness and good communication. ItÂ’s all about looking out for each other.” Voodoo on the other hand stated “I worked through my applicants in fairly small groups looking for the best kill to death ratio (more kills than deaths!), I like to be motivational; I think that’s very important. It’s also important to talk a lot of tactics – I always go into battle with a plan …”. Jam had her own opinion “The most important thing for me, is trying to get people to communicate and work together as a team – and to keep things fun. I want people to feel that they can talk to me and suggest things. Though if anyone wants to call me Captain, or Miss-Super-Boss-of-the-World, I have no objections at all”. Lastly, Sarin piped in with “I want people who can shoot straight and hold a conversation whilst doing it, you’re no good to Team Sarin if you can’t yell ‘he’s over there’ with your last breath. I want a team that can bond on the battlefield, there must be a level of friendship between the players that will ensure a good team spirit.”
