If you’re a fan of gamebooks and haven’t heard about F. Calendini‘s LoneWolfDS (previous version here), we’ll let you know that you’ll be fools if you let this piece of homebrewed nostalgia pass you by. For those who still aren’t in the know, LoneWolfDS is a gamebook application for the Nintendo DS.
LoneWolfDS is now in its second and final version, but the homebrew developer wants users to let him know if they encounter any bugs in the latest update. Like the previous release, gamers can play through the epic gamebook Flight from the Dark with a slick interface afforded by the handheld.
Here’s LoneWolfDS version 1.2’s changelog:
- Added a left-handed mode finally! I recoded many things to support this new mode, so if you find a bug, please tell me! 🙂
- Now you throw the dice manually during combats, to make them more enjoyable and add a bit of suspense.
- Fixed a screen brightness bug occuring sometimes after flashing the screen.
- Fixed a combat skill bonus bug when you had taken “MindBlast” discipline.
- Added a “Close” button to the map. Also you can now display the map by pressing START/SELECT.
- Other small fixes and improvements.
You can download the final version below, and make sure you go through the readme file included before you install the application. If you like F. Calendini’s work, you can support it in the NeoFlash Competition 2008. Check out the Via link for more details.
