Sega and Sports Interactive now one
SEGA has acquired Sports Interactive, publisher of the upcoming headline release Football Manager which is due to hit stories on both the Xbox360 and PSP on April 13, has been described by SEGA CEO Naoya Tsurumi as ‘one of the most significant titles for our European line-up’
Sports Interactive was founded in 1994 by the brothers Collyer – Paul and Oliver, who introduced the world to the critically acclaimed Championship Manager series of football management. Since their split from Eidos in 2004, this forced them to change the name of the series and re-brand it as Football Manager, which since has gone on to sell 1.5 million copies of the first two editions (2005 and 2006).
Sports Interactive are also known for their other titles in the sports management genre – namely NHL: Eastside Hockey Manager and Out of the Park Baseball.
