The last build of PSPKVM, the Java emulator for the Sony PlayStation Portable, only featured minor performance and memory fixes. This time around, homebrew developers sleepper and m@x have added new goodies for the latest version 0.3.2 – virtual keyboard support, among others.

If you’ve been playing more Java games from your PC than you do on your mobile phones, the virtual keyboard will be of significant help. Sleepper and m@x have also addressed lots of bugs with version 0.3.2 from voice outputs to selector form issues.

Here is the complete changelog straight from the developers:

  • Virtual Keyboard support
  • Use “L+R+Square” to call up network connection dialog at any time (slim version only)
  • Add pspkvm.ini confituation file
  • JSR75 root directories configurable by pspkvm.ini
  • Stretch small device screen to fit PSP screen
  • Support CW90
  • Resolve bug: can not enter jad/jar file selector form, if the original jar file directory is deleted
  • Implement microedition.platform property. Now can run Cangshenlu.
  • Don’t show mess icon in AMS
  • Resolve the bug that can’t output voice in jstardict

A getting-started .pdf file is included in each homebrew file. Make sure you check it out before proceeding with anything. Safety first! PSPKVM is available for both 1.50 kernel PSP or 3.xx OE-supporting ones. Source code is included for good measure, too.
