Microsoft: Xbox 360 price cuts for Asia
Microsoft plans on lowering the price of its Xbox 360 in its Asian markets to revitalize sales – a move similar to when it cut the prices in Europe. For more information on these price cuts and the specific regions to be affected, head on over to the full article by clicking on the “read more” link below.
What does a company do to increase its sales? Lower the prices, of course. That is precisely what Microsoft will be doing in its Asian markets, specifically: Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and South Korea.
According to Bloomberg, Singapore will be seeing a 20 percent price drop to S$ 499 (around US$ 366) while Taiwan Xbox 360 prices will be lowered by 17 percent to NT$ 10,360 (US$ 340). Hong Kong on the other hand will be seeing an 11 percent cut from the retail price while Korea gets a 5.1 percent reduction dropping the price down to 369,000 won (US$ 369).
Perhaps Microsoft is hoping to have a repeat of the sales boost it got when it cut the prices in Europe last March 14. There’s not much we (or Microsoft, for that matter) can do but wait and see if the price cut does revitalize sales in the Asian region.
