Sins of a Solar Empire v1.05 packs 2 new maps, more fixes
From the one publisher that knows one way to battle piracy comes another reason why Sins of a Solar Empire is best enjoyed legitimately: patch version 1.05. Though this release was only made to address the various faults found in the previously applied fixes, it also adds new content that would make any multiplayer or custom game addict smile from ear to ear. Get details of the new maps at the full story.
Stardock Entertainment, together with Ironclad Games, is happy to announce that the latest build (from version 1.04) for Sins of a Solar Empire is out. Version 1.05 of the patch comes with a short list of fixes for both single player and multiplayer.
Of those several included are the ones that don’t make multiplayer sessions hitch whenever TEC commanders attempt broadsiding Battleship Autocannons (boo yeah!). Other fixes include:
- Fixed bug deallocating particle pool memory.
- Fixed cargo ship related crash caused when loading a saved game.
- Increased the maximum length of map description text. If the text is too long, it will no longer crash the game.
- AI missions no longer continue if a human player has taken over for them.
- AI controlled units will no longer still have AI-control if a human player has taken over for them.
- Fixed crash when attempting to toggle the autocast state for an uncontrollable ship/planet module.
- Fixed capturable resource mines from being considered damageable.
- Fixed squad owner infocards to gracefully handle large numbers of squads (100+).
- Fixed crash if you run out of video memory when loading textures.
- Planet asteroid setup now uses TotalMaxResourcesAsteroids parameter again.
- Added two new maps: Melting Point and Ancient Gifts.
- ICO accounts will now be forced to logout if you attempt to login with the same account.
- Malice changed to fix CPU issues in the late game due to previous implementation of the ability. Malice now accumulates damage on affected targets and then spreads that damage when the buff expires, rather than spreading damage as soon as damage is applied. Its duration, cooldown and AM cost have all been reduced to reflect this. Malice is now target capped as well at 8/16/24 targets.
- Fixed bug in galaxy generator related to vertical planet offsets when planets are too close together.
- New default texture quality settings set.
Also, patch version 1.05 for SoSE adds two new maps to test your tactical and strategic prowess in multiplayer and custom games: Melting Point and Ancient Gifts. And good news, folks: the latest build doesn’t invalidate your older save games – and you know that’s a good thing. The only catch is that the replays aren’t compatible, and they will fail on the new patch.
Ironclad Games also hints that the next patch for Sins of a Solar Empire will be a major one: patch version 1.1. It’s said to tweak multiplayer coding a whole lot, and it might even come with even more content. More on that as we come across details. For now, enjoy.
