Our friendly anonymous Japanese developers are back, and if you’re guessing it’s their Snes9xTYLsmcm 23/05/08 Release they bring with them, then you are right.
If you happen to be new to the PSP homebrew scene, and are in the dark as to what the whole buzz is about regarding this brew, then listen up. Snes9xTYL is a homebrew emulator, originally coded by YoyoFR and Laxer3a. Today, its development continues as with projects like this from the Japanese developers.
Now, people who have tried this out have said over at the DCemu forums that they have experienced increased speed in their games. Apart from this, Veskgar notes that games that used to “chug slightly” now run at a flawless 0 frameskip – this as well as vsync ON and with the PSP clocked at just 300 MHz.
Sounds pretty impressive, indeed. But we won’t suggest you just take their words for it. Go ahead, try it for yourself and see the difference with your own eyes.
