Microsoft has decided to clarify this, however, stating that it is still slated for 2008. Confused? Get some understanding after the jump!
If you’re a fan of Rockstar North‘s Grand Theft Auto 4 for the Xbox 360 (also on the PS3), then you know that there’s some downloadable content coming to the game, consisting of additional episodes that Niko Bellic can immerse himself in when he’s not hunting down dastardly Russian men.
While rumors did mention that the first piece of DLC for the game would be coming out in August, Microsoft has informed news sites that the DLC is still on track for a fall 2008 release.
According to a recent statement, Take-Two mentioned that the first piece of downloadable content would be released sometime in Q1 of fiscal year 2009. Microsoft, however has added to the statement, noting that they still intend to release the first DLC for GTA 4 in fall of 2008.
To clarify, fiscal years represent a period of twelve months that companies use to calculate annual financial statements. The thing about them is that the fiscal year can occur during any 12-month period, not necessarily as a January-to-December calendar year, meaning that Q1 of fiscal year 2009 could actually begin in fall 2008.
In any event, expect us to come out with more information on Niko’s further adventures in Liberty City when more information becomes available. In the meantime, have fun playing the game!
