Phishing Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures - Image 1It seems that Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures (an Xbox 360 version is in the works) has already drawn the attention of the more unsavory denizens of the internet – so much so that Funcom has released a warning to gamers about phishing and scam attempts.

According to a post by Funcom on the official Age of Conan forums, there have been a number of attempts to get users to enter their user details on websites other than the official registration page (Always remember to check the URL in your browser very closely).

Here are a few general guidelines from the developers that you should always keep in mind to help avoid getting scammed:

  • Funcom will NEVER ask you to enter your username and password anywhere else than in our registration page https://register.ageofconan.com
  • No beta application will ask you for your login & password of your retail account
  • No Funcom employee will ever ask you for your password

Once again, be careful with your Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures account details as it could mean that some scumbag will be walking off with all the hard-earned cash and gear you’ve been amassing or worse.
