Boogie Superstar confirmed for Wii, details released
Boogie is not done belting out. Electronic Arts has announced that the Wii game will indeed have a sequel on the same platform, Boogie Superstar. The artists included in the game are a sure indication just how cool this iteration is, so better check them out and more at the full article.
It looks like the rumor from last May on a Boogie sequel from Electronic Arts for the Wii has finally been confirmed. Via press wire, the publisher has now revealed that they will indeed be releasing a new Boogie title, Boogie Superstar.
Upping the ante on karaoke fun, Boogie Superstar brings in more than 40 songs from popular artists like Rihanna, Fergie, Katy Perry, Leona Lewis, Maroon Five, Kanye West, Alicia Keys and more. Apart from belting out to their hit pop tunes, you’ll also get to customize your character to make sure you’ve got the total popstar package.
It will also have another 30 songs for its international versions like Melissa M and Monrose from Germany, Finley from Italy, and Fito Y Fitipaldis of Spain. Whew, that’s sure a lot already. But if you think that’s all there is to it, then you’re wrong. EA said that they’ve yet to announce the featured artist for the game, so you better watch out for that. For now, the hints they’ve given is that it will be a “chart-topping, global music sensation who will help promote Boogie Superstar.
And if you don’t feel like going down the superstar path on your own, you will have the option of singing and dancing with friends as a group in the two- and four-player modes. Of course, competition is inevitable in games like this, so that’s a perfect venue for that as well.
But the path to fame is not easy so you’ll have to climb that ladder to reach your stars. Start the game by customizing your character, making it as unique as can be for you to be “discovered”. Then you are brought to this training camp where you learn the how it is to perform in front of audiences. After graduating, you should be set to perform for a panel of judges in the ultimate competition, the Boogie Star Show. No Simon Cowells here, so you shouldn’t get your self-esteem flattened out by snarky comments.
Boogie Superstar will be out in North America and Europe sooner than we expected, October 2008. Asian gamers will have their hands on this game a few months after. Keep it posted here for more details. In the meantime, enjoy the assets we have for you.
