Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty on both PSN and Blu-ray
A sequel to Ratchet & Clank Future was indeed confirmed a few days ago during Sony‘s E3 press conference. But now, we got some new info from Europe: while it was previously announced that the game is headed to the PSN (for US$ 15, man, that’s a steal!), we now get confirmation that Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty will also experience what WarHawk and GT5 Prologue had – a Blu-ray disc version.
It looks like we got some confirmation of the ESRB rating we saw a while back: a Ratchet sequel’s indeed in the works. The new game in the Ratchet series was announced during E3, in Sony‘s press conference a few days ago.
Back then it was already confirmed to be a PSN release. What’s more is that it’s going to come at a reasonable price tag of US$ 15 a pop (to be exact, it’s actually US$ 14.99).
Here’s a new bit of info though, straight from SCEE’s David Reeves: Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest for Booty won’t only be coming in PSN DLC form, but actually, also be available on retail shelves in Blu-ray disc format.
Just like what happened to both WarHawk and GT5 Prologue, Sony’s doing a one-two punch with Quest for Booty. For now, as David Reeves didn’t mention anything about a Blu-ray version for the U.S., this twin-format release seems to be only confirmed for Europe.
As Tretton announced in E3, Quest for Booty will pick up immediately where Tools of Destruction left off, thus answering questions to whatever happened to Clank at the end of the previous title. What you do have to know about this sequel is that it’s labelled as a game that has a shorter format, for less the price of your standard release.
You won’t be needing to wait for the game for too long either. It’s currently scheduled to be released this summer already, simultaneously for US and PAL regions of the PlayStation Network.
