Space Siege demo on the loose
…and all over the Internet, at that! If you haven’t already had the lead ahead of us, then you might want to check out Space Siege – the game that kept industry rockstar Chris Taylor busy while they planned their massive project with independent RTS experts Stardock Systems (the one you know only as Demigod). Just a little more details to be had at the full story, if you still have the patience to course through it.
The Space Siege demo may have been to release exclusively on nZone, but now folks have managed to upload the 940 MB archive elsewhere to share the love that only an action RPG could bring. But what exactly does Gas Powered Games‘ Space Siege bring?
A whole mixed bag of potatoes, so to speak. Don’t take it the wrong way – we’ve tried it ourselves, and it’s full of action and fun. But there’s a lot of things that Dungeon Siege fans would have expected more from Space Siege, and there’s a lot that Shadowground fans would toss at Gas Powered Games’ way. Like rotten tomatoes or something.
We’re not about to spoil the few glorious moments that the demo of Space Siege has for you, so you might want to go ahead and give it a try. The system requirements that they’re aiming for the final build of Space Siege is as follows:
Minimum System Requirements:
- Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2, Vista
- 2.6 GHz processor
- 512 MB RAM
- 3 GB available hard-drive space
- 128 MB video RAM or greater, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader / Pixel Shader 2.0 support (Nvidia 6800/ATI 9800 or better)
- Sound card, instancing required
- Broadband internet connection (DSL/Cable).
Recommended System Requirements:
- 3.0 GHz Intel or equivalent AMD processor or better
- 1 GB RAM or better
- 3 GB available hard-drive space
- 256 MB video RAM, with DirectX 9 Vertex Shader / Pixel Shader 2.0 support (Nvidia 8000 series or better)
- Sound card, instancing required
- Internet connection with Cable/DSL speeds
Exceed a bit in the minimum system requirements department, and you’re in luck. More news coming up – wait and see.
