TGS 2008: Resident Evil 5 gets split screen for offline co-op
Though the online co-op mode for Resident Evil 5 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 was announced back in E3, apparently, offline co-op is also going to be available in the game. Other than offline co-op being split screen, both co-op modes will be offering the same experience.
During TGS, Capcom revealed that, apparently, co-op for Resident Evil 5 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 will also be available offline. Yay for social outcasts who don’t have online PSN or XBL friends! Ha, who am I kidding… I’m probably one of them.
But anyways, yes, offline co-op is an available option and, yes it’s going for a split screen presentation.
As IGN describes it, offline and online co-op will still offer the same gaming experience – presumably, that means same missions, weapons, etc. The only huge exception in offline mode is that 1) your buddy is playing beside you on the sofa/beanbag/carpet/bed(?), and 2) your buddy is dispatching zombies Los Ganados beside you on-screen.
