Wiibrew developer Cthulhu32 has released a handy little Windows program that should be useful to those who want to develop homebrew for the Nintendo Wii and GameCube consoles.

The program, BmpToZlibGC, lets users compress large images so they can include them in their ELF files without having to end up with a bloated file size. The version may say v1.1, but this is the first public release of BmpToZlibGC. Here’s a very short changelog:

• First version of the tool.
• One known bug, dragging BMPs onto the exe in Windows will cause weird names
