Red Steel: Now officially announced

Following Game Informer’s preview of Red Steel, Ubisoft today officially confirmed the title for the Nintendo Revolution. Set in a modern day Japan, Red Steel is a stylish action thriller made as a video game. Players will utilize swords as well as firearms in order to fully appreciate the Revolution’s unique controller.

Using this technology, Ubisoft hopes Red Steel will also appeal to people who “may have not previously considered picking up a controller”, following Nintendo’s philosophy to attract casual gamers and even (previous) non-gamers to their consoles.

Reggie Fils-Aime, executive vice president of sales and marketing of Nintendo of America, commented enthusiastically on Red Steel’s announcement: “Ubisoft makes some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed games in the industry (…) it is going to be a standout exclusive title on the Revolution.”

Expect Red Steel to be showcased at the upcoming E3, then we’ll see if the most obvious method of using the Rev’s controller really works out as planned.
