Konami teases ‘next Metal Gear’, hints Xbox 360 vibe

Oooh, what a tease. MGS5, is that you? Konami Japan‘s just put up a site with a flashing message. It alternates between their logo and a green equation with text that reads: “A next Metal Gear is…” There seems to be a bit of Engrish there, but one startling bit (yeah, man, I can totally feel that big red exclamation mark pop above my head now…!) is that the little equation they have there is giving off some Xbox 360 vibe.

That’s how most people think of it, at least. Current speculation holds that this “next Metal Gear,” a.k.a. “MGS5“, just might get a release on the Xbox 360. Or… Maybe it’s going to be released exclusively for the 360? Who knows? For all we know… it could be released across various consoles and handhelds.

Konami’s keeping mum on the matter, playing the “we don’t comment on rumor and speculation” card. For now, the only fact is that Konami’s put up that teaser site. Any speculation you might draw out from it is still just that: speculation. Bah. Can’t wait for TGS 2009!
