DS Lite coming to Best Buy in a few months?

Interesting Best Buy ads have been surfacing, in which the DS Lite is described as “coming to your Best Buy in a few months”. Pretty vague, yes, but when can a retailer afford advertising a product without having an idea when it’s released? The DS Lite has been announced for a “May – June timeframe” anyway. So Best Buy is really not confirming anything, but it’s a sign that US shipments are drawing close.
A few days ago, various import shops such as Lik-Sang also announced that the Lite stock is stabilizing, as the handheld had been highly successful and consequently almost completely unavailable in Japan after launching.

So all in all, while the situation is normalizing in Asia, expect more and more US stores to put up their DS Lite ads, as they seem to be getting ready to receive their units. Not that we’d anticipate an onslaught similar to what happened in Japan, but who knows for sure…
