Remember when Konami sued Harmonix over Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) for alleged patent infringements last year? Well, Harmonix and owner Viacom is fighting back with a counter-suit filed Wednesday.
Remember when Konami sued Harmonix over Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) for alleged patent infringements last year? Well, Harmonix and owner Viacom is fighting back with a counter-suit filed Wednesday.
The counter-suit claims that Harmonix’s games represent improvements over the original Konami designs and that Rock Revolution (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS) actually has more in common with Rock Band than with Konami’s earlier rhythm games.
Viacom and Harmonix are seeking compensation for damages (that means cash) as well as a motion to keep Konami from selling Rock Revolution, which isn’t really all that hard seeing as how badly the game flopped.
