The PlayStation Blog’s latest “Sack it to Me” post is the “3 letter edition”, featuring on the Independent Film Channel, and its appearance at the upcoming Game Developers Conference next week. Yep, it’s LBP on IFC and GDC.

Indie filmmakers at the IFC got their creative juices brewing and showed what the gaming world what they’ve got, coming up with LittleBigPlanet-inspired short flicks. Check the final nominees and the winners through this link.

As for the GDC, SCEA‘s booth this year will be “Opportunity and Community,” and they’ll be dedicating two kiosks for Sackboy. From March 25th to the 27th, these kiosks will showcase the level-creating talents of LBP players present in the conference.

The first kiosk will be a “GDC Create Jam-session,” where GDC attendees, devs, and aspiring industry professionals can come together and create an LBP level. After completion, Sony and Media Molecule will post levels each day for the rest of us to download and play.

The second kiosk will be reserved for “very unique presentations. Dubbed “Level by…me” will showcase an LBP level creator. During the day, developers will talk about their personal game design technique and experiences as aspiring developers.

Also worth noting is that the LittleBigPlanet is shaping up to be a BigBigPlanet, with now over 600,000 user-created levels. 350,000 of those are for trophy-collecting, 200,000 for item-sharing, and 95,500 of them have gaming quality that give devs a run for their money. Sort of. But none can be as distinguished as the 635 levels which have been deemed of the highest quality by game creators. Now that’s a lot of levels.
