E3 2009: Co-op vid for PSP Pixel Junk Monsters Deluxe
If you’re one of the lucky guys who got into the LA Convention Center, then you might’ve run into PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe at Sony‘s booth. Apparently, it’s so fun that booth attendees are having trouble getting hooked players to pass the PSPs to the guys in queue. But even if you got in and played the game, there’s no way you could’ve seen this feature – Q-Games has added online co-op play, so there’s gonna be more towers, more defenses, and more level-dancing.

As with many games with online gameplay, you’ll be in a lobby where you can either join a room or create your own one. The system has all the usual features, like room bookmarking and setting your preferences. There will even be cross-translated menu for simple words and phrases to help ease through the language barrier. Each room can hold up to eight players.
Another new feature that they’ve added is a news ticker outside your game room. While you’re in-game, people checking out game rooms can get a blow-by-blow of what you and your pals have been up to inside. There’s also a new ring menu that gives you a simple set of icons you can string together – it’s supposed to be very useful in telling your friends what to do.
Q-Games president Dylan Cuthbert still doesn’t know when it’ll be ready, so we’ll just be waiting for updates until they do.
