TimeGate: Players will be able to create dedicated servers for Section 8’s Xbox 360 version
TimeGate’s Section 8 (PC, Xbox 360, PS3) hasn’t really been generating a lot of news lately. The last time we heard about it, there were some courtroom shenanigans involved. This update, though, is definitely much better than that last one.

Apparently, TimeGate will be letting players turn their own PCs into dedicated servers for the upcoming sci-fi FPS’s Xbox 360 version via a downloadable app. When playing on a dedicated server, the game will support multiplayer matches of up to 32 players.
Note that TimeGate will also be hosting servers, so don’t think they’re just getting lazy and foisting all the server duties onto players. The TimeGate servers will host only up to 16-player matches, though, so dedicated servers still offer more oomph.
Section 8 is expected to launch this fall. The game will also be available on PC and PS3.
