Famitsu details bonus content for Tales of Vesperia PS3, Tales of VS
Wow. Lots of updates from Namco Bandai today. This one’s not Tekken-related though. For now we turn to another mainstay in the company’s portfolio — the Tales franchise, specifically the PS3 version of Tales of Vesperia and the PSP title Tales of VS.

Famitsu has detailed more PS3-exclusive content for Tales of Vesperia, including a look at the new “Giganto Monsters”, big foes that players can do battle with to get rare drops. There will also be new areas, and the ones at Famitsu.com show larger scale areas as opposed to the smaller ones revealed before.
Namco Bandai will also be releasing some pre-order bonuses for Tales of Vesperia in the form of costumes from Tales of the Abyss. First run copies of Tales of Vesperia and Tales of VS will also come with passwords. Inputting the codes from one to the other will unlock extra content. In Vesperia, you’ll get special skits. In VS, you’ll get a special battle challenge that rewards you with weapons from the Vesperia cast.
Note that these are for the Japanese versions of both games. Gamers outside Japan may still get them as well if both games get overseas releases. There’s a pretty good chance of that happening, as Vesperia‘s Xbox 360 version got one, and a VS trademark has already been filed by Namco Bandai in the US.
Tales of Vesperia will be out in Japan on September 17. Tales of VS will be released earlier, on August 6.
