Phantasy Star Portable 2 coming this year?
According to the Japanese website, EBTen, Sega will be releasing Phantasy Star Portable with a budget price next month. Said to be included in this package would be a Video UMD, which carries a three-episode story feature covering the PSU story, Phantasy Star Universe Chronicle. More intriguing than this, however, is that the website says that the package will include something for Phantasy Star Portable 2.

That’s right, appreciate the multiple stresses on that “2” attached to the PSP. While we have no official word from Sega regarding the reported sequel for their action RPG title, we did pick up that the budget priced PSP offering will have an opening cinematic for PSP2 (obviously not PlayStation Portable 2). And get this, they’re even reporting of a Winter 2009 release window!
Again, until Sega officially signs, seals and delivers good word on this, we’re hard pressed to tag this under rumor. Nonetheless, it’s nice to have it on board our rumor-wagon, right?
The Video UMD is said to have a total of 63 minutes in running time. Phantasy Star Portable was released in Japan last year, while the US and EU only got it this March and April, respectively.
