Following a successful launch in Japan with day one shipment exceeding one million units, Capcom has today announced that Monster Hunter Tri will be heading to Europe and North America in early 2010 for the Nintendo Wii.

The Wii incarnation of the game will introduce new features and gameplay elements for the multi-million selling game franchise. According to Laurent Fischer, Managing Director, Marketing & PR of Nintendo Europe,

The popularity of the Monster Hunter franchise in Japan is undeniable and the Day 1 shipment number indicates that the release of Monster Hunter Tri on Wii will be another major hit for the series. We are therefore really excited that Capcom is bringing this title to Europe so the Wii audience here can also experience the thrill of the hunt.

For those who can’t wait to try the game, you can head over to this month’s GamesCom in Cologne and be the first one to sample a localized version of the title on CapcomÂ’s stand.
