Dragon Quest IX being ‘considered’ for overseas release
It makes one wonder how a smash hit like Dragon Quest IX is not made available worldwide. In Japan, where it was released in last month, the Square Enix RPG for the DS has already sold well over 3.5 million, earning 2 million sales on its launch week alone. So, when’s it coming over to our shores? Yoichi Wada, CEO of Squeenix, has the answer after the jump.
It makes one wonder how a smash hit like Dragon Quest IX is not made available worldwide. In Japan, where it was released in last month, the Square Enix RPG for the DS has already sold well over 3.5 million, earning 2 million sales on its launch week alone. So, when’s it coming over to our shores?
In a Q&A session, CEO Yoichi Wada disclosed that they are in fact “considering” an overseas release. They still have yet to determine which regions to export the game to, but he did say that they are looking at a possible 2010 release, most likely for the next fiscal year.
