PS3 price cuts advertised by Kmart, FYE; Kmart now has PS3 Slim listing set for August 24
“The rumors are reality.” That’s what a Kmart ad is saying about both the PS3 price cut and the PS3 Slim. Kmart’s not the only place advertising them too, as apparently FYE has also rolled out posters announcing a new US$ 299 price for 80GB PS3s.

Kmart has also put down a listing for the PS3 Slim complete with an August 24 rollout date and the following description:
PS3, SLIM High-Definition Blu-ray player for the best movie experience. Free PLAYSTATION Network membership. 120GB HDD for downloading games, music, videos, and photos. Includes DUAL SHOCK 3 controller. HDMI output for 1080p resolution.
Yesterday, we also heard that across the pond, UK High Street retailer Asda is also advertising a price cut for 80GB PS3s.
Sony‘s GamesCom conference is still a couple of hours away, but with all these ads rolling out, it’d be one hell of a bitchslap if they don’t follow through even one of these two long-running rumors.
