PSP Go gets no billboard lovin’ in SoHo
Remember that gigantic PSP billboard that Sony put up high and proud over SoHo in New York? Well, if you’re expecting a PSP Go version of that for its much-anticipated launch, sorry, but you’re gonna have to be disappointed.
Remember that gigantic PSP billboard that Sony put up high and proud over SoHo in New York? Well, if you’re expecting a PSP Go version of that for its much-anticipated launch, sorry, but you’re gonna have to be disappointed.
A clothing brand’s billboard hangs instead in the place where the giant PSP TV board used to be. The PSP Go, meanwhile, has been grabbed down to the ground to a more reachable level: the Subway billboards.
It’s smart to go small, I reckon, especially considering the huge backlash the previous PSP board generated regarding safety issues (and the fact that the PSP Go is bigger in size because of the slide screen), but I wasn’t expecting Sony to go that small.
Weren’t they confident enough to cash out some investment for some major advertising? Or maybe, they were that confident that they didn’t feel the need to invest that much. Half-empty, half-full.
