Rumor: Logitech has PSP Go UMD add-on in the works
Put on your rumor hats, folks, we’ve got us a big one. Talk is starting up about a UMD reader accessory for the PSP Go, with peripheral maker Logitech being singled out as the manufacturer behind the rumored add-on.
Put on your rumor hats, folks, we’ve got us a big one. Talk is starting up about a UMD reader accessory for the PSP Go, with peripheral maker Logitech being singled out as the manufacturer behind the rumored add-on.
This comes from an unidentified source who informed online gaming news site CVG of Logitech’s alleged plans. Neither price nor release information were mentioned, but apparently the ad-on would “plug into the PSP Go, allowing users to play their UMD games on the portable.”
Logitech UK said that they’re “not aware of it, so it may be something the US office is working on.” Neither Logitech’s US office nor Sony have so far said anything about this rumor, although knowing Sony I bet it’ll just be the usual “we don’t comment on rumors” jazz.
While such an accessory would be beneficial to PSP Go owners who also have the older PSP models, I can’t help but be pessimistic about its impact on the Go’s popularity, especially since a cheaper alternative already exists in the form of the PSP-3000. What say you?
