ESRB: Red Steel 2 “pushed T rating to the limits”
Red Steel 2 did get that Teen rating from the ESRB, but it sure didn’t come smoothly. Although there was no blood or gore to merit a huge frown from the regulating body, its suggestive themes, language, and violence was enough for the ESRB to conclude that the game did push the T rating to its limits.
Apparently, the ESRB did not look nicely upon the ill-fitting (see: small) shirt on a woman who was well-equipped, so to speak, in the chest area. And oh yes, it will jiggle around sometimes. But hey, the game’s cell-shaded, so that’s *kinda* covered.
Here’s a portion of yet another literary exercise from ESRB:
“During the course of the game, a female character with exaggerated-size breasts wears a low-cut shirt that exposes deep cleavage; the character’s breasts jiggle slightly during cutscenes (there are no comparable physics applied to male characters). The expletives “bada*s,” “punk-a*s,” and “dammit” can be heard in the dialogue.
Overall, the game’s highly stylized cell-shaded graphics blunt the sense of realism, increasing the fantastical nature of battle sequences; in some ways, the graphic-novel art style (skinned with hand-drawn-like textures) lessens the impact of the violence—though the game is still considered a high-end Teen.”
You should be able to see the ill-fitted shirt in question on March 23, 2010 upon the game’s release.
