Survey says: Fable 2 gamers understood less than half of its features
Did you get for yourself a copy of Fable II? If yes, how much of the features did you actually understand? We’re asking you because apparently, Microsoft did a study on the game, and here they found that a majority of those who played Fable 2 actually got only less than half of the game’s total features. The conclusion, as per Peter Molyneux’ words, is nothing short of classic: “We’re creating content that people literally don’t care about.”

Not that he just swallowed a bitter pill, though. They’re taking the results of this study to heart and will consequently use it to improve the in-development Fable III. This time, they want to make it more interactive as most people – including Molyneux – did find it too “mundane” and “cumbersome”.
For example, they will now be incorporating pre-set costumes in the costume-changing system, including recommendations on what to wear depending on the task given at hand. So if you’re set to meet with a dignitary, have no doubt that you’ll be wearing something fancier than your everyday smock. You can even use a GTA IV style interface so you can alter the clothing to suit your tastes even more.
The map will also be improved, notably with the new “Pause room” feature. This room, as its name connotes, is where you head off to when you press Pause.
And this one should be interesting to see. Your characters will beef up in size depending on the weaponry they use. Sort of like, you can’t get toned if all you’re holding is a flimsy makeshift sword. So, the more you go for the hammer, the more your body build will buff up. Of course, the more you eat, the fatter your character will be — which we’re all entirely too aware of in real life as it is.
All in all, it sounds very promising. Hopefully, once the game rolls out, this time around people will care about what’s in it.
