Electronic Arts has announced that Battlefield 1943 becomes the fastest title to reach the 1 million plateau on Xbox Live Arcade.
Released way back in July last year, the critically acclaimed downloadable first-person shooter has won many fans because of it’s signature gameplay and classic WWII Battlefield maps using the DICE Frostbite engine that allows players to wreak havoc and destruction via land, sea and air. Gordon Van Dyke, producer of Battlefield 1943, said in a statement:
The reception of Battlefield 1943 continues to amaze us, even months after the game was released. Being the fastest game to reach this milestone is an incredible achievement. The game has set a new standard for what can be done in the downloadable games category. It’s fantastic to see how gamers have recognized the value that the game delivers for just $15. It is another great entry point into the Battlefield franchise.
Priced at US$ 15 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, EA promises that the PC version of the game will be released soon.
