Rumor: Star Wars: Battlefront Online canceled

Even before we heard of any official news regarding Star Wars: Battlefront Online, we are now greeted with the rumor that the game has been cancelled by LucasArts. This unfortunate buzz comes in the heels of the lay-off of employees by dev company, Siant Six.

Even before we heard of any official news regarding Star Wars: Battlefront Online, we are now greeted with the rumor that the game has been cancelled by LucasArts. This unfortunate buzz comes in the heels of the lay-off of employees by dev company, Siant Six.

The rumor points to LucasArts’ decision to hold off on Battlefront Online since they wanted the release date to be within 2010. However, the devs were apparently opting for a 2011 launch, but LucasArts will not hear of it, because allegedly, they have other plans for that year. Because the two cannot meet eye to eye on the schedule, LucasArts pulled the plug.

This is still unconfirmed right now, though, so all you Star War fans out there chill in the meantime. We’ll be sure to update you on this one.
