Respawn Entertainment: We only want respect
Jason West and Vince Zampella are in a better place now, following their dramatic departure from Infinity Ward under Activision’s clutches. A much better place, considering that their new company, Respawn Entertainment, in partnership with EA, grants them to have the full control over their games — control they didn’t have with their previous bosses.

The drama with Activision may be far from over, but these power duo ain’t slowing down from doing what they have and love to do. Their first order of business now that they’re out of Activision’s shadows: get a little respect from the industry. This is what the duo expressed, in an interview with IndustryGamers.
“What it came down to was we wanted someone who would respect our independence and our culture,” said West. “Let us own the IP and put us in a position to maximize our success, so we can have a great team and control the brands and franchises that we want to make.”
I don’t think they’ll have any problems getting that considering that their past works alone (Modern Warfare 2, hello!) should say a lot about how they work, and how they deliver results.
